More Legroom on a Coach Budget

Wednesday March 8, 2006

legroom.jpgIt’s time to break into the first person for a confession: I’m tall—6’3” to be exact. At my height, flying coach is physically painful. My knees are contorted into ungainly and unnatural positions and crunch into the row of seats in front of me. Putting down the meal tray’s a chore. It’s either getting up to stretch my legs every 30 minutes or agonizing in pain. That’s why it was so interesting to read on Gadling about the launch of two new airlines offering business-class style seating at coach prices. Both MAXjet and Eos are taking the new approach. The catch? The upstarts only offer popular trans-atlantic routes like NYC-London and DC-London. You can’t have it all, I suppose.
