Boston's Theater District is the nerve center of live entertainment in Boston and boasts a number of popular theaters in close radius including the Colonial Theater, Wang Center for the Performing Arts, Shubert Theatre and the Charles Playhouse. It's also undergoing a neighborhood renaissance that was recently the subject of attention from NPR when it was featured on Morning Edition (audio link):
Boston planners want to create a Hollywood Walk of Fame-type attraction. People honored on Boston's walk would not have there names placed into stars, though. The plaque might be shaped like a codfish, in homage to local culture. The idea is part of an effort to reshape the Boston's theater district into a major tourist attraction.
If visiting Boston for yourself, both the Sheraton Boston Hotel and the Westin Copley Place are a stone throw's away from the Theater District.
