The Nokia E50 blog (and yes, there is such a thing) recently posted a list of tips for extending cell phone battery life that could well be of use for owners of any cell phone. The list focuses on some behind the scenes technogeekery that makes sense when one thinks about it. For instance, keypad tones and vibrating alerts are both major battery drainers and of all cell phone apps, games are the major battery drainers. Most interestingly for those on the road, WiFi enabled phones that automatically scan for networks every few minutes waste a considerable amount of battery time on those searches. By turning off your WiFi searches, you can add an extra day of life to your cell phone charge.
